Bridge Wharf in Chertsey
NEIGHBOURS have spoken of their shock after a Chertsey man admitted possessing extreme pornography.
Matthew Jones, 34, of Bridge Wharf, appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Friday to admit four charges of possessing extreme images, including of animals.
The court was told that Jones's computer was seized by police in March last year, and pictures and movie clips were found.
Jones denied three other counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and two counts of possession of indecent photographs of a child.
Those charges will lie on file until Jones is sentenced next month.
But after hearing the charges, neighbours in Bridge Wharf spoke of their shock and disbelief.
One of them, Will Thorne, 31, a plumber, said: "You get the odd ASBO kid or something like that, but this is disgusting. It just doesn't happen here. It shouldn't happen at all. I'm really shocked that one of my neighbours, someone I could see every day, could do this."
And Jo Hillman, 27, a mum-of-one, added: "To bring my kids up near someone who could do this just turns my stomach. I can't believe this kind of thing happens in the real world."
Other neighbours said that they did not know Jones well, as he did not talk to them very much.
