More Than 1,300 Pupils From 23 Schools In Elmbridge Have Become Junior Citizens.
The scheme, which ran from Monday, June 8, to Wednesday, June 24, coached primary school children in how to be safe and responsible citizens.
Their tutors came from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, Surrey Police, the St John Ambulance, EDF Energy, Surrey Waste Management and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The courses were held at Walton fire station, in Hersham Road, where children took part in workshops on crime reduction, 999 calls, road and fire safety and the importance of recycling.
PC Jerry Milford, Elmbridge Council's youth affairs officer, said: "I hope the children enjoyed Junior Citizen and learnt from the experience.
"They are about to move on to secondary school and it presented a great opportunity to educate them about safety issues, especially at a time when they need to be aware of how to look after themselves."
Next year's Junior Citizen Scheme will run from June 7 to June 23. For enquiries call the Community Safety Team on 01372 474 399 or email communitysafety@elmbridge.gov.uk
