THREE mayors witnessed the opening of new studios at Brooklands FM, the community radio for north Surrey.
The studio, at Elmbridge Museum, in Church Street, Weybridge was visited by the Mayor of Elmbridge Councillor James Vickers, Mayor of Runnymede Councillor Paul Tuley and Mayor of Woking Councillor Christina Liddington, for the lunchtime opening last Wednesday.
The Brooklands FM team moved from their home above Cosmic Electricals, in Station Road, Addlestone, in early September, but had to wait for Mr Vickers to cut the ribbon.
Robin Corry, broadcaster at the station, said: "We had two sessions; a lunchtime one for the mayors of Elmbridge, Woking and Runnymede, and an evening one for the Mayor of Spelthorne.
"We had about 50 people at lunchtime and 30 in the evening. There were people broadcasting throughout both.
"In our old studios we were restricted by shop times, but since we've moved here we have already extended our
broadcasting times to as late as 9pm and 10pm."
The Herald and News holds a news round-up on Brooklands FM every Thursday at 1pm.
