An accoustic guitarist from Addlestone competed on Channel4 at the weekend for a chance to appear on TV soap Hollyoaks.
Lee James, 43, appeared on T4 programme The Hollyoaks Music Show on Saturday with his band Mo Molokwu this week introduced by actress Claire Cooper who plays jailbird Jacqui McQueen in Hollyoaks.
Six weeks remain of this contest that began with 800 applicants but is now down to nine individual acts.
Each week one of the nine unsigned band plays on the show, when all the bands have appeared it will be up to the public to vote for their favourite who will then perform in an episode of the Chester soap opera later this year.
Mr James who lives with his wife and eight-year-old daughter in Beech Grove, said: “The filming was brilliant, we had a really good day, every band had a mentor from the soap, ours was Claire, who is really nice. I really like the soap its covered several relevant issues lately.”
Mr James is a professional musician who joined the pre existing band in June. His fellow band members are Kate Leslie, Nkone Benedict, Derek Lewis, Toby Pluta, and lead vocalist Mo Molokwu.
