Council to discuss hospital improvements
St Peter's Hospital
PLANS to redevelop St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey will be discussed by Runnymede Council's planning committee on Wednesday.
Councillors were shown proposals to improve the Guildford Road site, including modernising buildings and increasing car parking spaces.
They were expected to grant permission for work on Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust's master plan to develop the site over the course of the next 20 years.
Speaking about the plans, Paul Bentley, directory of strategy at the trust said: "These plans represent a very long term view for this site. It's important that we have a long term vision within which we will be able to begin smaller developments that will, over time, contribute to the longer term plan."
