A STUDENT radio station will be able to broadcast beyond the campus after being granted a Community FM licence.
Royal Holloway, University of London's Student Union station, Insanity Radio, was granted the licence last week.
Students’ Union Vice-President for Communication and Services at Royal Holloway, David Cummins, said: “The Students’ Union was happy to receive the news that Insanity has been awarded the Community FM Licence. We are now waiting to meet with the rest of the board of directors to discuss the direction we need to take.
"Even though we have a lot of work ahead of us, we’re excited to be connecting with the local community with a series of new initiatives, as well as having the opportunity to be heard throughout the local area.”
Insanity Radio first started out as the 'Radio Society' in 1997 and has grown ever since. It currently broadcasts online and on 1287AM.
