Moles go from bad to brilliant

RYMAN LEAGUE SOUTH Molesey.......................................4 Colliers Wood.............................0

Molesey's 15-month winless home run came to a spectacular end on Bank Holiday Monday as they crushed sorry Colliers Wood.

The performance was a far cry from the dismal display 48 hours earlier, when the Moles were outplayed at Badshot Lea and lost 2-1. This time Steve Webb's side tore into out-of-sorts Colliers Wood, going three-up within half an hour.

Moles took the lead when centre-back Rob Lewis got in front of his marker and, with his back to goal, guided the ball into the net.

It was a sweet moment for Lewis, who was playing Sunday League football last season, but who took his goal with the aplomb of an experienced marksman.

Andy Graves added a second with a screamer of a 35-yarder, while Owen Bent slid home a third, and Chico Kadzombe headed home a fourth for Molesey's first home win since the 5-3 victory over Cray Wanderers in April last year.

Their first home win in 25 matches, and their biggest victory since a 4-0 demolition of Ashford Town (Kent) exactly two years ago, has gone some way to easing the pressure on under fire boss Steve Webb.

The next milestone to overcome is achieving back-to-back victories, a feat which hasn't been accomplished since November 2006.
