Lorraine and Pattison on AFC Wimbledon's wish list

WOKING FC skipper Paul Lorraine looks set for a return to former club AFC Wimbledon – along with Cards team-mate Matt Pattinson.

AFC boss Terry Brown admits he has been watching centre-back Lorraine and midfielder Pattinson with a view to bringing them to his club, which takes Woking’s place in Blue Square Premier.

But no deals would be signed until next week, when Brown sits down with his current squad to discuss their futures.

Brown said: "They are both very good and influential players and we’ve been looking at them.

"They both have experience in the league we are going into, but more importantly, they are both still relatively young (both are aged 25).

"They fit the bill of the squad we are trying to build. It would be all too easy to plunder the Conference and League Two for older experienced players, but we are trying to build for the future.

"But to be honest, the list of players we are looking at is more than one side of a piece of A4 paper, so the fact we’re watching them doesn’t mean much yet.

"I’ll be speaking to the players we have already on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we may start to see some movement then."
